FAQs

Q : I applied online a few days ago. How long will it take before I can expect to schedule an interview?

You will receive an acknowledgment that your résumé has been received. If there is an open position that fits with your qualifications, we will contact you to set up an interview appointment. In addition, your résumé will be entered into our database for our recruiters to access for future opportunities.

Q : Is there any opportunity for career advancement between Starboard's affiliates within the LVMH organization and does Starboard promote from within?

Yes. Starboard believes in contributing to the personal and professional growth of our employees. Our Human Resources Department is committed to helping employees realize and manage their career growth and development. (This includes within Starboard's Miami headquarters and our shops, and sister organizations.) In fact, whenever possible, we work to promote internal opportunities to Starboard employees before extending an offer to external candidates.

Q : What is the interview process like?

Once we determine a potential fit with an open position, you'll be contacted to meet first with a Human Resources representative. After the initial meeting, we'll determine whether there is a qualification to arrange interview meetings with other management members connected to the position. This may require more than one visit to our offices, but our goal is to make this process as convenient and informative for you as possible. Of course, references will be checked before any offer of employment is extended. All job offers are contingent on passing a pre-employment drug screen and/or successful reference checks.

Q : What should I wear to my interview?

If you're looking for suggestions, we would suggest "business casual", which you will observe when you visit us during interviews.

Q : Does Starboard relocate?

We do offer some relocation support for qualifying positions.

Q : Can I apply for a position in your corporate offices from overseas?

Yes. If you are not a U.S. citizen, you will simply need to provide the necessary documentation that proves you can legally work in the United States in order to be hired.

Q : Do you have offices in the other countries?

We are preparing to open an office in Genoa, Italy in 2003. This office is small with a limited number of available positions. Any new openings will be advertised locally.
